In the spring semester of the 2022/2023 academic year Izabela Słodka will teach a design studio Commons of the Unproductive at the RAvB together with Maciej Wieczorkowski, René Boer (research) and Federica Zatta (communication).

Last Friday together with the group of Rotterdamse Academie van Bouwkunst students we visited our case study location: Loven Zuid in Tilburg. Currently the site is an example of unbalanced mix between residential and industrial functions and at the same time, it has a great potential of creating new synergies between these two worlds. In our class we will explore the ability of urban commons to built on the existing qualities in hope to create mixed, vibrant and porous neighborhood.
